The circle is complete
The seventy-fifth anniversary of The Elyria Rotary Club was celebrated in March, 1993. It was a gala party attended by 249 people including a great many Rotarians from around District 6600, nearly all Elyria Rotarians and distinguished guests, Rotary International President Clifford L. Dochterman and Easter Seals President James E. Williams.
Proclamations were read from District 6600, the City of Elyria, State of Ohio and National, and of course, a commendation from Rotary International.
A highlight of the Evening was a presentation and address by Easter Seal President Williams.
He recounted the part Elyria Rotary played in the founding of the society, a moving talk.
The plaque presented by James Williams is now on display in the lobby of the Elyria Memorial Hospital where the first 'office' of the Crippled Children Society was located in 1919.
